The visible light and the electromagnetic spectrum
When a beam of white light, by the sun, passes through a prism is split into different colors (corresponding to the different frequencies of light) forming the spectrum. Violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red are the colors visible from the human eye composing the “visible spectrum”; but the light extends for a much wider range of frequencies.
